Christians Outwork Atheists
Relative to our good old European counterparts, it appears we Americans are setting a bad example for the world by working so damn hard.
The following is an excerpt from an article in the New York Times titled "Why America Outpaces Europe (Clue: The God Factor)." The article gives an overview of the religious basis for America's sustained economic productivity, as compared with Europe's increasing secularization, and subsequent economic stagnation.
What clinches the Weber thesis is that Northern Europe's declines in working hours coincide almost exactly with steep declines in religious observance. In the Netherlands, Britain, Germany, Sweden and Denmark, less than 10 percent of the population now attend church at least once a month, a dramatic decline since the 1960's. (Only in Catholic Italy and Ireland do more than a third of the population go to church on a monthly basis.) In the recent Gallup Millennium Survey of religious attitudes, 49 percent of Danes, 52 percent of Norwegians and 55 percent of Swedes said God did not matter to them. In North America, by comparison, 82 percent of respondents said God was "very important."
Sorry about my tardiness on the promised pieces on hip hop and graphic design. I'm finishing up the design section of the website, but it should be done tomorrow and then I'll get back to work on the writing.

This may be true. But from what I've learned about Saudi Arabians, the reality is very different. Saudis are notoriously lazy, especially in non-managerial positions. Almost all of the construction, retail and all other 'undesirable' work is done by foreigners like Filipinos, Indians, Pakistanis, Bangladeshis, Afghanis, etc. And while the country mandates that all non-esential business to stop during the 5 daily prayer times of the Muslims (and many attend), the laziness of the Saudis persists. Perhaps this is only because they depend on foreign work to work the undesired jobs. In Saudi publications, journalists have commented on how Saudis leave work early and don't work efficiently when on duty. I'm Muslim so I can say this without any shame, that Saudis don't represent the entire Muslim mentality, quite the opposite, Egyptians don't display these characteristics in work environments either.

If you've done no research on this subject you shouldn't make such broad statements. If you are a "hip hopster" then where is your open mindedness. If a person doesn't believe in God does this mean they are terrible people? You feel to young to sound so self rightous.

I USED TO BE A CATHOLIC BUT THEN I CONVERTED AND I ((WAS)) A BORN AGAIN CRISTIAN AVANGELIST. NOW I JUST CATEGORIZE MYSELF TO BEING MOST AFILIATED WITH THAT RELIGION. EVERY RELIGION HAS SOMETHING WRONG WITH IT, EITHER IT DEMANDS TOO MUCH OR TOO LITTLE FROM PEOPLE. IF WE ARE NOBODY TOO JUDGE ONE ANOTHER THEN WHY DOES IT MATTER WHAT WE BELIEVE IN? AS LONG AS PEOPLE BELIEVE IN A HIGHER MORE LOVING POWER THAT REPRESENTS ALL GOOD AND NO EVIL AND USE THAT HIGHER BEING AS AN EXAMPLE OR "MENTOR," THEN I THINK THIS WORLD WOULD HAVE MORE PEACE OF MIND AND LESS ON THEIR MIND. I SUGGEST WE ALL ENJOY THE SHORT TIME WE EACH HAVE IN THIS BEAUTIFUL WORLD. AND YES THIS WORLD IS BEAUTIFUL, MAYBE NOT THE PEOPLE, LOL, BUT THE WORLD ITSELF IS AMAZING!! ENDULGE YOURSELVES WITH THE LITTLE THINGS AROUND YOU AND APPRECIATE THE BIGGER THINGS YOU ARE BLESSED WITH.

I believe in being open-minded to respect another person's point of view regarding religion. I don't believe in changing my own beliefs to project that the end results will be the same. Many religions teach that their God is exclusively genuine. Christianity and Islam are the two largest religions that are "persecuted" for this stand on their beliefs. I think that most religions are misrepresented by the lack of commitment of the people who practice them. An accurate example goes a lot farther than any book, sermon, or speech ever could. I am a Christian because of the truth in the belief system itself, despite the many failed false examples displayed by people who distort others from the reality of the belief system itself. By the way, there aren't any Catholic or Protestant sections in the new city from heaven. Jesus needs to lead Christians, not denominations of men.
Think about it.
Christopher "Inclyne" Williams

You might want to add Judaism to that list of persecuted religions.
On denominations, I think the very nature of religion -- regardless of denomination -- is to draw arbitrary lines in the sand and taunt people over crossing them... or not crossing them.
Be original and challenge authority... that's what Jesus did.

Yes, I do include Judaism as a persecuted belief system in taking an exclusive stand on their Creator. This is mentioned throughout the history of Christianity.
This is my challenge to true believers in Jesus Christ.
An excerpt from the article, "I felt like he was talking to me..."
by Christopher Daniel "Inclyne" Williams. 2003/2004
I have a problem with the Church in America. I have a problem with the divisions of denomination. Who has the forgiven authority to de-nominate a soul for true salvation and discipleship? I believe Jesus was the only one who died on the cross in the first place. It angers me that Christians in denominations have the ability to agree to disagree about theological interpretations of the Bible and remain united in the basic instructions of Jesus himself and willingly choose not to due to the financial and social pressures of current culture and society. It angers me that men in their pursuit of Christ have not been willing to challenge the pride within themselves to reflect the truth that cultural sexism was a direct result of male disobedience to God, instead of continuing to subconsciously promote Adam’s sinful attitude of blaming a woman for his own disobedient actions against God. It angers me that as a whole, the church spends more time complaining about the world, the poor, the suffering, and their conditions rather than praying and reaching out to them. It angers me that many new Christians are taught to value their financial ability to be a blessing, with more focus than the command of loving their enemies, and praying for those who hate them. I have a problem with Christians who see homosexuals as their enemy, and feel that because they are forgiven, it is now their God given right to act as verbal judge, jury, and executioner. I have a problem with Christians who don’t pray for the forgiveness of homosexuals, but wish to complain privately and publicly about their choices. I have a problem with Christians who complain about the sinfulness of a world that by definition is expected to grow in deceit, corruption, and selfishness believing that their commands will somehow change the natural sinful actions of the world, when it took Christ to change their own sinful actions to free them from that same world. I have a problem with Christians who believe in the practices of speaking in tongues and yet do not follow or practice the very instructions associated with its use in group believer fellowship according to Scripture. I have a problem with Christians who support pro-life and at the same time socially reject young women who have made sexual choices too early and given birth to precious children without being married. I have a problem with Christians who expect people to enter their group worship facility, and never set foot outside of it to invite others inside. I have a problem with Christians who only approach those who appear financially successful while ignoring the less fortunate, and the poor. I have a problem today with Christians who have claimed to receive Christ’s forgiveness and refuse to share that “overflow” with others. I have a problem with Christians placing greater priority on pursuing physical health and healing before spiritual health and healing. I have a problem with the division between the Catholic church and the Protestant church who both believe in the same Hebrew Messiah and place more emphasis on their differences than their Savior. I have a problem today. I appreciate Tupac and his lyrical exposure of the harsh realities of suffering in America’s youth, but there is a deeper reality that needs exposure. Jesus always began from the inside out. I start with myself, finding where I succeed and fail in being a disciple of Christ, and in my own life I see a world surrounding me of believers and hypocrites. I sense fear, I sense masses of leaders who are afraid to pursue the full extent of truth, which usually leads to death, execution, or assassination. I reject that fear in myself. The truth is too important. The future is too important to ignore everything that’s happening and remain silent watching the church and the world in spiritual “limbo”. I am praying for our forgiveness because it’s not the devil that’s limiting the salvation and revival of the humans in the world that desire God. It is our failed and hypocritical example as the church ourselves. I am imperfect, a sinner, and a former hypocrite myself. I choose to accept that. I choose to receive my forgiveness from God, not a man. That’s why I can remain humble, why I can continue to speak without fear. Christ is truly my source. If He supports me, then other judgments will not matter. The forgiveness and acceptance of humans does not change my identity. The forgiveness and acceptance of Christ changes my identity. It empowers me to see more than the world can show me. It empowers me to love my enemies, to bless those who curse me, because I was His enemy, I was a curse to Him, I was a person who could have despised Him. Through receiving His choice, I am empowered to face all hypocrisy, all discouragement, all resistance to His Will, and endure my pursuit to the death. My choices and power aren’t based on society anymore, or acceptance anymore, or intellectual or physical appearance anymore. That’s my choice. No one can take that choice away from me. I own it. The question is…, Do you?
Will you choose to own it?
Jesus said that he did not come to bring peace, but a sword. He came to set a father against his son and a mother against her daughter and vice versa as well. He wasn’t saying that believers in Him should be divided among themselves. He was talking about those who chose to believe in Him versus those who do not believe. Jesus said that many would be deceived by false prophets including some of the very elect of believers.
Am I a false prophet to say that God is expecting us all to come into the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace with each other? Am I a false prophet to say that God is grieved and disgusted by our lack of unity? Am I a false prophet to say that the reason why physical persecution has been minor in this country for so long is due to the divisions of the church itself? Am I a false prophet to say that the reason the church has not been able to effectively address political, social, and moral issues is due to the extreme lack of personal humility with both believers and non-believers? Am I a false prophet to say that the anointing of the Holy Spirit wishes to teach all believers through more than simply a sermon from their pastor, or a “word” from their prophets?
Ask yourself am I a false prophet? Is the message that I share based on being proud or being humble? Search your heart for the truth. Decide. Time is running out for everyone. Repent, receive, forgive, and believe. I read the red letters first. I encourage you to do the same. God bless you.

It is useless to debate Christianity with a Christian. Unless you like to debate with an insane person.
THE WORLD’S CREEPING INSANITY
By Newton Joseph,Ph.D.
INSANITY 1---mental derangement: not a technical term. 2---any form or degree of mental derangement or unsoundness of mind---that makes a person incapable of what is regarded as normal, rational conduct or judgment. 3 great folly; extreme senselessness.
IRRATIONAL 1 lacking the power to reason. 2 contrary to reason; senseless; unreasonable; absurd. FANATIC n. a person whose extreme zeal, piety etc.goes beyond that is reasonable.
Virtually all insanity, most people would agree, goes unnoticed by the general public. However there is a form of genuine insanity which all people witness in the course of normal living of which they are not aware that is insanity. this form of insanity is manifested to those who take religion, Christianity for example, seriously. Christianity in the dominant religion of the United States and the Western world so I am using it as a case in point. Why do I say the belief in Christianity is insanity? First of all, those who adhere
to this religion accept the existence of a God, the existence of which cannot be rationally demonstrated by valid Western philosophy nor by science. Secondly, those who accept this religion also irrationally attribute to this God; omnipotence, and omnipresence, omnipresence. Thirdly, those who accept this religion also irrationally believe that this God authored the bible, which renders it “infallible, inerrant word of God” which, therefore, makes it a prime source of authority for the teachings of the Church.
Obviously, once one accepts these three beliefs on must believe/there/is nothing this God cannot do or know and nowhere this God cannot be. Everything that happens; things that are good and disasters which frequently occur such as mass starvation, suffering, illness, the cruel and violent death of innocent people and children are allowed to happen by this god, a God who by definition is omnipotent and omniscient and therefore could prevent these disasters. But they rationalize that “God moves in mysterious and strange ways”
Christians and especially the preachers steadfastly believe that the bible is an actual, true, accurate account of those ancient times. This position is insane because these people are incapable of what is regarded as normal, rational judgment.
````````Christianity is totally absurd in as much as its entire purpose is to “save souls.” What do Christians mean by “save souls”? They mean that every person is born in the state o sin. New born babies, innocent children, educated, ethical, law abiding adults –-‘ All have sinned and come short of the glory of God” they say, as a result are banned from heaven and therefore need to be “saved” This concept is based on the absurdity of taking the Adam and Eve myth as the truth. This example and others too numerous to mention here it fits perfectly the definitions given at the beginning of this essay. They are of great folly and shows the lack of power to reason. In a word, they show insanity
"New born babies, innocent children, educated, ethical, law abiding adults –-‘ All have sinned and come short of the glory of God”
-That's a strawman, unless you're a catholic.
Dr. Newton's argument above is the new offensive used by atheists and agnostics to turn people against Christians and Jews. Their argument stems from a pre-conceived belief system within themselves that God does not exist and because someone disagrees, then they must be insane.
Christians do many good works. How many outreach missions do you know of that are ran by organizations other than Christian? Christians have a long history of true benevolence to their fellow man and to deny this fact is a pure lie bent on turning others against God fearing people.
Christians do exhibit, on the whole, an strong, innate work ethic. Perhaps others would be wise to examine why this is so; if they could put their bigotry aside long enough to look.
Responding to Dr. Newton,
The scientific secular community has agreed on two facts regarding your points.
1. The universe's big bang theory is impossible based on credible observation of the historical nature of the universe, which is expanding, and concluded to have been originated from an intelligent higher power.
2. The mathematical consistency and accuracy of the "Bible" itself has a statistical probability of being written and organized exactly as it is in a ratio of over 1,000,000 to 1 in "chance" development.
There are many other secular assumptions that have been disproved due to inaccuracy. Here are three for you to consider.
1. Evolution.
2. Carbon dating.
3. Neanderthals and Cro-Magnons
Science is not destroying a case for the truth of creation in Christianity. It's actually building one, because of one reason. The truth remains true, whether you believe it or not.
Christopher Williams
Here's a book you can read about these facts.
