Stink Zone Redevelopment
Be advised there will be an even further diminishing of my weblog entries. For the past few weeks, I have been hard at work on some projects. And my pseudo-hiatus will continue until they are finished. Here is a sneak peak.
1. A book about hip hop. It's going to deal with a WIDE range of issues surrounding hip hop, including race, class, authenticity, economics, mainstream culture, underground culture, etc.
2. A Content Management System for the Stink Zone. This CMS system will enable us to have non-technical "editors" run the site. This will dramatically improve the Stink Zone's ability to scale and grow. If you are interested in becoming an editor of your local section, please send me an email.
3. Reading and reviewing Oliver Wang's new book, Classic Material: The Hip Hop Album Guide. While it is true that "Oliver Wang Stole My Writing" awhile back, his book is hard to ignore. The book gathers reviews, by various writers, of classic albums from the past two decades.
Don't worry, though. When I get back things will be even crazier than before. I'm going to call out more hip hop writers and journalists. I'm going invite more homosexuals and gang bangers to the site. I'm going to play up the playing-down of race as much as racially possible for a people-of-color-loving-honky. And I'm going to see if I can find some other -- equally ribald -- folks to come and help me with this weblog.
Until then, keep doing whatever it is you do.

Hmm... Another hip hop blog resource... I'm interested in your book about hip hop. The time has arrived for criticaly views of the genre.
I'm not sure of your intentions with more "more homosexuals and gang bangers" at this point. But I'll keep an eye out.

The Content Management System will be for our regional pages, I don't know if that was clear from my description.
The book will be as much critical as -- hopefully -- philosophical and experimental.
My intentions with homos/bangers is to simply build on the work of Eminem and Ice-T. Anyone can make a list of favorite songs. It takes a brave person to be part of a community that accepts people of truly diverse backgrounds. We need more brave people.
