Can I See Some ID?
Did you know that it is legal for all U.S. citizens to have homosexual sex, except those in the military? But to make up for that, military people are allowed to have straight sex when they are 16. Is this a recruiting tactic? My only question is... I thought you had to be 18 to be in the military.
Did you know... in Papua New Guinea it is legal for women to have sex with each other, but mean are not allowed to have gay sex. In Vojvodina, women can start having sex with each other at 14, but men must wait until 18. The same is true for Austria, Serbia, and Kosovo.
But most interesting of all is that, in Hong Kong, heterosexuals can have sex when they are 18, but gays must wait until 21. Burkina Faso also makes gays wait until 21, but if you got an itch for straight sex in Burkina Faso, you only have to wait until you are 13.
The folks at Avert.org have put together a nice little chart to help you out on your next vacation, or trip across state lines.

Agree. Glad you said that.

Just stop being gay, and get married to the opposite sex. That will make it all much easier to handle. 1 in 4 people who will read this think I'm right, 2 in 4 are straight and disagree and the other 1 is gay/lesbian and may or may not wish to continue being gay/lesbian on moral grounds, good for you.
hehe
Seriously though homosexuality is wrong.

Are there any non-theological reasons why homosexuality is wrong?

Read my comment in the'Wake Up Christian Rappers!! section.

Essentially, the problem with the English language, indeed most languages,(especially western) is that they divide meanings into the sphere of 'religous' and 'secular' or 'scientific'. This is a problem because it forces people to divide reality into these, without allowing them to choose whether these assertions regarding belief (which is a stunted term because of this deficiency in language).and science are in conflict in the first. Arabic, and maybe Hebrew, and a few African and Asian languages are without this aspect as much.
By you asking if there are any non-theological reasons, I'm wondering what you mean. I'm asking myself "does he mean I should, for the purpose of this communication make a mental experiment, where God doesn't exist and shouldn't be obeyed even though he made the laws for the universe in the first place, I'll assume his absence even though I know these laws would cease along with all reality!" Maybe if such a thought were to be employed, you'd expect me to entertain the pitch and field you a response dealing with physiological, psychological, and other things which apparently to you, God (another stunted term) has nothing to do with.
Lastly and as succinctly as I can, I'll just say that it is wrong. And that society will suffer.
People will see the results, but by then it will be too late. You would have already been jacked up (if you do it) or God would have already punished us for allowing it to take place and playing ignorant.
A rational question I have is if Homo-sexuality is good, normal, and beneficial, then analyzing other things will make this apparent.
If we can make 2 North magnets attract, or if we can make fire un-burn, or make water un-wet, or make the earth stop rotating, or make the universe stop expanding, or simply observe any such homo or reverse activity in nature, then it may be natural (note: I know homo dosn't mean reverse, but I can't fathom the equivalent in any other circumstance in perceivable reality at the moment).
Even animals don't do it. I think dogs, or pigs might, but that's because they have no control over their instincts when they get desperate, we however, do have control over these instincts.
When we feel the need to use the bathroom, we do it in a HUMAN manner, not just talking to your friend, and then wham! dump where you stand.
If you dwell on the issue beyond what people tell you, you will naturally come to a sane conclusion, that it is irrational, wrong, and damgaging. And the best proof is right from God in the Qur'an and all the revealed books of God (according to them, i.e. David, Moses and Jesus, not according to someone who doesn't even have a last name)

You are totally assuming that everything written in the Qu'ran is 100% true and valid.
As I've said before... just because God tells me to do something, that doesn't mean I will do it.
I refuse to be ruled by dogma. For me, religion is a living breathing thing... and not just a static book. It's all about interpretation and adaption. All religions are divided between those who take scripture literally, and those who "reform" it.
But, being the good Protestant that I am, I know that the most important relationship is between me and whatever notion of God you want to believe in. I don't let politics get in the way of my spirituality. And if it means I'm going to hell... so be it. I'm not afraid.

The way you think about religion is at least a partial result of that very Protestant movement which changed alot at the time it was formed.
People protested the authority of the Catholic Church because it abused power and was really lavish with the money taxed from people. On top of that, they only allowed their interpretation of scripture. People wanted to read the Bible, but were ignorant of Latin. The reformation was also partially racially charged. Martin Luthor was from an area called Saxony in Germany. His Saxon ancestors were forced to become Catholics by force of violence (it was a very bloody process) from their neighbors to the south. Its no surprised that this is where the Reformation rose from (Protestants to this day are mostly in the north of Germany and Catholics to the south). Martin Luthor was right on it with much of his efforts. Politically speaking, he helped things alot for Christ (A made up word) believing people.
I'm not that good at percentages, but I have to believe that the Qur'an is true, I've read over it for 23-12 years of life, I should have found some inconsistencies, contradictions, or untruths in it by now.
Dogma is not good, indeed most people who have 'convictions' only do that: convict themselves to a mental prison. The Qur'an is not dogmatic as I told you before, and I think you know this by now. The Qur'an makes many challenges, and asks many questions to the listener. It states "there is no compulsion in religion".
Bush was right that there should be limits on freedom. Only his concept of this was self serving and not aimed at bringing people to realize their responsibility to their creator. Bush wants people to renounce their rights so he can be their king. I think people have to give up their ego, make sacrifices including "personal freedoms" if God tells us so. Islam partially means submission to the will of God. If you can't even do that, then you won't really be seeing the message of God.
Peace.

Nobu,
It's well within your rights to have an opinion, as it is within mine to have my own. I am not angered at all by your statements, just hurt that you don't see history repeating itself.
Fifty years ago, and still today, interracial relationships were regarded as wrong, blacks regarded as less than people. It was thought of as wrong for many reasons, but people brought God into the mix a lot to justify that it was worng (God and the bible also were brought in to justify slavery). What troubles me is that far too many individuals hide behind God or text rather than talking to or truly walking with God before they arrive at a decision. I believe in a Maker, but I also believe that we were given free will and most of us know right from wrong. Love is right, hatred is wrong. I love my wife, she is of a different race, and many people believe that we are wrong, that our LOVE is wrong. How is this so dissimilar from people believing that a man and a man or a woman and a woman are wrong for loving each other in a most pure and true way?
I'm not accusing you of hiding behind your religion at all. What I'm asking is that you also use your free will and heart to judge homosexuals. It feels wrong to you because you are not them. I feel wrong and am feared by people because I'm black and they are not. Learn to accept differences and maybe you'll realize that people cannot simply "Just stop being gay, and get married to the opposite sex.", no more than I can stop being black.
Easy
