Special Herbs Vol.1 was released on Female Fun, LP only.
Doom also did two tracks on the Greedy Fingers "Shady Sirens" album (DC Recordings).
Also, the "I Hear Voices" promo was on Subverse, not Fondle 'Em. Hope that helps.

Posted by: Robbie on February 9, 2004 08:01 PM

Good looking on the "I Hear Voices" label check!!

I'm still trying to figure out what's up with the Special Herbs Vol.1 and Vol.2 on vinyl. I'm pretty sure they were released separately, but I'm not totally sure and I'm also not sure what label put them out.

Thanks for the heads up!

Posted by: eric on February 9, 2004 10:01 PM

No probs.
As far as the Special Herbs go, Volume 1 was released on Female Fun Music (I can confirm this since I own a copy). Volume 2 was never released commercially by itself, the only pressing of it is the High Times Volume 1 & 2 release.

Posted by: Robbie on February 10, 2004 03:45 PM

Oh yeah Volume 3 came out on Female Fun CD only.

Posted by: Robbie on February 10, 2004 03:57 PM

Off the top of the head, I believe peach fuzz was originally on it's own 12 inch with a separate one for nitty gritty later.. i think the b side for peachfuzz was "gasface refill" and for nitty gritty it was my favorite KMD song "Plumskinzz" -a somewhat different version than what appeared on Black Bastards later.

Also, there was a video for Peachfuzz.. man that really takes me back.

Nyze work!

Doom (or is it DOOM) was supposed to play Copenhagen early March, but ... unfortunately.. he didn't have everything straight with his passport. Now - I heard that he's actually British and can't leave the US - and that's the reason for the passport problems? Could also be a story.

I'd also like to say - and its probably inappropriate in a MF Doom comments section - that its great to discover blogs (on the other site of the world) where people write quality stuff about the EXACT stuff that you're interested in. I think sociologists call it "Global Tribes" or something... surely, it's dope!!!

Posted by: NYZE on February 15, 2004 02:50 PM

nyze...

I heard Doom was having passport problems, but I didn't know he was a British citizen. Sounds like he should get some advice from Rick the Ruler. On second thought, he probably shouldn't.

Thanks for the positive feedback! I'm developing a hip hop blog network, that will include all the major bloggers. Definitely watch for that!

Posted by: eric on February 15, 2004 04:30 PM

He also uses the names Villain, Super Villain, Metal Face, Metal Fingers and his birth name "Daniel Dumile.

Posted by: asdwhat on February 25, 2004 12:07 AM

Nice work on the discography!

He also has a video for "Dead Bent", done by the same director who did "?". It's floating around on the net somewhere, I'm sure you can find it if you look hard enough.

Posted by: wilson on March 1, 2004 12:07 PM

Ive been listening to Doom since King Geedorah and love his style, but I am shaky on his history. I know he started in KMD with his bro but can someone give me a brief run down.

Posted by: rock48nj on March 2, 2004 12:48 PM

viktor vaughn has a video for mr clean

www.90bpm.com

and there is also a video for dead bent

if someone knows where you can find the "?" video email me...

"Viktor Vaughn Vaudeville Villain LP (Traffic)"

This is an EP. Traffic isn't a label, they pressed the vinyl for Sound Ink. What you have listed here is the test pressing.

Also, that DNA performance IS a bootleg. Spit Kicker provided that audio and will be using it in the future.

I forgot to mention that I went to the MadVillian show here in Los Angeles, DOOM smashed the show with the MadLib beats behind him...talk about a couple of smoked out mc/producers tagteaming the industry...watch out for more from these guys...

Doom appears on the new remix from DJ DangerMouse...remix of Zero7's single 'Somersault.' DangerMouse sent me an advance copy...if there was a way to post it here, I would.

you can hear a brief sample on iTunes, since it was the 1 Millionth song downloaded during their recent contest.

No ones mentioned enter the 36 chambers of DOOM? never seen it except once on ebay where it went for £200 and sumthin for a cd!! Anyway, just the metal faced one working his beat magic on the whole of enter the 36 and even dropping a coupla extra verses, FRESH!

Posted by: adam on December 30, 2004 03:13 AM

Listening to DOOM is like taking your brain out your head, putting it in a frying pan, letting that shit cook for like a half hour, seasoning it with the finest herbs and spices, then replacing it. Man that shit is nice!!!!!!!!!!!!

there's a more accurate MF DOOM discography on the Madvillain page at Stones Throw www.stonesthrow.com

Posted by: J Z on January 11, 2005 09:31 PM

adam - that 36 Chambers of Doom is a seriously WACK bunch of blends done by a fan. The mixes on that CD are so off-beat that it's beyond being funny and into sad territory. I don't know about that eBay auction you mention, but it sounds like someone got ripped off bigtime.
