Race is a Myth
I've been saying this for awhile now.
Syracuse University: All of Us Are Related, Each of Us is Unique
"All of Us Are Related, Each of Us is Unique" challenges the alleged validity of the notion of human "races." At Syracuse University, we think it is time to spread the word about how much alike all humans are, and how our differences are clearly not "racial" in any biological sense of that word.
This exhibition is designed to contribute to contemporary discourse on human diversity. It is a graphic presentation of biological findings rooted in genetics research, and it includes striking displays of phenotypical variations, conventionally thought to be categorical. In fact, they are continuous.

This shouldn't surprise anyone. Anthropologists have been saying this for a long time. Not that there aren't differences between people, groups of people, or even populations of people, but that there is more diversity between two people who might be considered black than between a black and a white.
Where we draw the lines between "races" is mostly a cultural deal anyway. I can't remember where I heard it, but I believe in Brazil they have 500 different racial categories applied to people. In the US, we don't have nearly as many...

No brainer.

it's crazy how out-of-control a no-brainer can get.

Race is entirely a social construct.

Unfortunately, it's a social construct so ingrained in some people that it's not even funny.
Think getting out of "The Matrix" was a pain in the ass? Try getting years and years out of the teachings of some people's elders.
Great post.

its actually currently on display @ the SJSU library (bomb ass library - the largest west of the mississippi!) in the "ethnic" half of the 7th floor of the library.

and i forgot to mention it's called the dr. martin luther king, jr. library who said something about we should judge by the content of one's character and not by the color of one's skin, or something like that...

Race is just a myth. It was stated in a article called mixed blood that "there is nothing left over that can be called race. This is why race is a myth." No groups of people is superior to any other.
