Dance 360
Their website may be a mess... but make no mistake: Dance 360 is the illest nationally-syndicated dance show since Solid Gold or Dance Fever. OK, I'm not sure if that is a flattering comparison. But seriously, how refreshing is it to see a show on network TV that doesn't revolve around sex, violence, or celebrity worship?
Hosted by Fredro Starr (Onyx) and Kel Mitchell (Keenan & Kel), Dance 360 manages to breathe life into the stale overly-orchestrated pseudo competition/talent show format. The key here is a focus on the dancers. And these are real deal b-boys, not some clones. At one point, Fredro even comments to one of the b-boys in the crowd, "You don't even look like a b-boy. B-Boys don't even dress like b-boys anymore." To me, this was one of the most refreshing things about the show -- these b-boys were representing the true spirit of hip hop.
As if to drive the point home, the 2nd place winner of tonight's broadcast -- Marcus aka "Freakshow" -- was rocking tight jeans and a jean jacket with Social Distortion patches all over it. Style! After he finished up his last routine, DJ K-Sly commented, "His jeans are too tight." Personally, I thought he had more flavor than anyone else on the show. He kinda reminded me of Benny from City of God. Sabor!
There were two more ingredients that led to the success of the show. First, the crowd was padded with b-boys -- real b-boys. The hosts would ask them questions or get them to come and bust a move on the dance floor. Second, they had Fleks from the L.A. Breakers. And of course, Fleks devastated the competition. L.A. Breakers always manage to bring it the hardest.
As usual b-boys represented the best that hip hop has to offer, with lots of mindblowing moves and positive personalities. Unlike MC battles, b-boy competitors are their own biggest fans and they recognize that everyone wins in a "competition" like this. Big up to KCAL 9 (L.A.), C to the B Productions, R. Brian DiPirro, and whoever else was involved in bringing this to air.

At first, I thought this show was surreal....THEN, they featured a kid audience version. It blew my mind! The kids had soooo much talent and could show they could really move. Some were from countries other than the US, such as Germany. My fav??? Imani --- way too cute!!!! Now, I love this show!

Hay you guys i had a question . I work with LAPD Gang pervention group . basicly what we do is work with at risk youth to help them stay away from trouble. There is a student that we have and he is a really good dancer i am trying to get him on the hsow cuz i know he will turn the show out .
